The Gillausklause – a tranquil retreat in the forest

It is an ideal place for anyone who wants to relax or work with full ability to concentrate; for those who want to experience the power of nature or who simply seek peace and calm. For families or groups, looking for something special: it is a place of both rest and relaxation and yet endless adventures in the middle of untouched nature.

Originally the Gillausklause was a secluded hermitage in the countryside. It then became a popular and legendary inn. Today it has been lovingly renovated and stands as a comfortable, well-equipped refuge surrounded by woods and next to the small Gillaus Creek.

The Gillausklause itself lies one kilometre from the village of Gillaus, in the municipality of Albrechtsberg an der Großen Krems in the southern Waldviertel, 12 km north of the Wachau (Weißenkirchen) and approximately 1 ¼ hours from Vienna.
